A fantastic drawing competition for creative local children!

Lucy Pendleton with Emma Beart, winner of the James Pendleton Easter Bunny drawing competition, and her winning bunny!

Award Winning Estate Agents James Pendleton recently called upon the talents of Wandsworth and Lambeth schoolchildren in a bid to bring the Easter Bunny to life!  Nearly 450 children aged four to eleven submitted their drawings, whose aim was to promote and celebrate local creative talent as well as finding a potential new mascot for James Pendleton’s charity organisation, ‘Live to Give’.  The competition offered children the chance to have their drawing custom made into a completely unique cuddly toy bunny as well as a family holiday and a £1000 cash prize for the winning school.

The judging panel met on 19th April to select the winning drawings based on their creativity, cuteness and enthusiasm.  The jury consisted of former local art teacher and education expert Hazel Hardy,  Alex Sykes who run MadeForMums website for Wandsworth, arts executive Lizie Gower of Academy Films and Lee James Pendleton, CEO of James Pendleton.  The judging process can be seen along with the winning bunnies at jamespendleton.co.uk/easterbunny.

The judges had a tough time choosing a winning bunny drawing as so many fantastic drawings were sent in, but eventually chose Emma Beart (5) of Finton House School as the overall winner.  On Thursday, 24th May, Lucy Pendleton presented Emma with a real cuddly toy version of her drawing during morning assembly at Finton House!  Emma’s family have also won a three day holiday voucher, and young Emma has gained her school’s art department a donation of £1000 courtesy of James Pendleton!

The competition had a brilliant response and really showcased the creative talents of South West London children.  The judges felt they couldn’t award only one child a prize, so they also awarded second to fifth prizes as well as a list of Honourable Mentions.  The second and third prize winners, Joseph Withers and Anna Varley have also received small custom cuddly bunnies, the fourth and fifth prize winners Faith Blackden and Frederica Brookes received personalised chocolates and the other 44 shortlisted children can collect a sweet treat from their local James Pendleton office!
